CalculateCompare pay rates and estimate earnings
Choose the tool based on the number you know and the result you need. These calculators show gross pay conversions separately from estimated take-home pay, which can include taxes and deductions.
- Convert annual salary to hourly pay by dividing annual salary by hours per week and weeks per year. Adjust the schedule if you do not work a standard year.
- Convert hourly wages to annual gross pay by multiplying the hourly rate by hours worked per week and paid weeks per year. Unpaid time off reduces the annual estimate.
- Estimate overtime by separating regular and overtime hours, then applying the multiplier that matches your workplace rules.
- Use the paycheck calculator for an estimate of federal income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. It excludes state and local taxes and several payroll-specific details, so it is not a substitute for a pay stub.
Example: convert hourly pay to annual income
At $25 per hour for 40 hours each week across 52 paid weeks, estimated annual gross pay is $25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000. This is gross income before taxes and other deductions.
